Therapeutic Approaches

Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP)
NLP is a form of positive psychology based on the idea of modelling excellence.  We begin by looking at the way you think and feel about yourself, others and various situations and then instruct your brain to think differently, 're-modelling' your beliefs to fit with how you want to be.  NLP techniques are exceptionally useful for improving communication skills and changing unwanted thoughts, feelings and behaviours.

Hypnotherapy
Hypnosis has been used therapeutically for hundreds of years and is particularly well recognised as THE treatment for phobias and anxiety.  Whilst in a deeply relaxed state, it becomes easier to communicate with the unconscious mind and well-crafted, metaphorical suggestions will be internalised and applied to your conscious life.  Hypnotherapy can allow you to relive past experiences and change the way they affect you in the present.

Counselling
By giving you the space to talk about intimate thoughts and difficult feelings in an open, safe environment you are able to explore deeper meanings and gain a new perspective on life.  Counselling can be extremely helpful for exploring emotions such as anger, grief, shame, guilt and fear allowing you to gain a greater understanding of your feelings and relationships.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
CBT is a psychotherapeutic approach which has been proven to be effective for the treatment of mood, anxiety and personality disorders.  It is a technique-driven, brief intervention which works towards achieving specific goals.  By altering what you do (behaviours) and think (cognitions) you can improve your mood and emotions with long-lasting effects.

Life Coaching
Coaching provides support and empowerment to achieve life goals through devolping your personal attributes.  It is a directive, positive approach to the individual which will strenghten your skills in problem-solving, increase your motivation and confidence and allow you to fulfill your potential and achieve your dreams.

We start by creating a plan, combining these approaches to work towards your goals in the most effective way, so that we will achieve long-lasting results.  This can be either short-term, solution focussed therapy or a more long-term, explorative, working-through of issues.

This unique approach allows you to succeed in reaching your goals and helps you to maintain progress in many aspects of your life.

Many people struggle to attend appointments because of their anxiety; therefore therapy will usually take place in your own home.  This has the added benefits of making you more comfortable and relaxed and also increases confidentiality.
